What do we do ?

London is one of the best cities in the world for shopping and ‘ShopsinLondon’ (yep! all one word) provides details. Both the large stores and the smaller, more specialist shops are included, with full contact details and brief descriptions for each. Links to shop websites are given, if these are available. Click on the left hand menu and see what you find. New shops are being added all the time, so why don’t you add us to your list of ‘favorites’ or ‘bookmarks.’ for future reference.

Getting Around

Several travel options are available. The London Underground or ‘tube’, London Buses, Tramlink, River Buses, London Overground and the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) are all run by Transport for London. Their excellent web site provides full details, including timetables, route maps and ticket information. See their route planner below. Also consider 'Black Cab' taxis, bike hire, mini cabs and Thames Clippers.

Save money on Travel

For regular travel, Travelcards are more economical for the tourist.
Short term cards are available for 1, 3 or 7 days and can be bought in tube stations, National Rail stations and many newsagents. They come in two forms, the traditional printed version and an electronic top-up, added to a smartcard. Buy a Travelcard from a mainline railway station and benefit from their 2 for1 scheme.
Oyster Cards are an alternative. These smart cards can be used to pay for reduced ticket prices once credit has been added. They can store Travelcards, bus and tram passes, so are very convenient.
Be sure to investigate all possibilities to determine your best option.

Places to Visit
